Darryl has over 30 years of experience in finance. Born and raised in Maryland, Darryl started his career in banking and tax preparation while working his way through college. After acquiring his CPA license, he earned an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems from University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Having worked in both private equity and multi-company groups, Darryl worked his way from bookkeeper and staff accountant to Chief Financial Officer. He has worked on multiple financial system modernization projects, including a system upgrade for a company with over $120 million in revenue and $5 billion in assets. Darryl has taken companies through private equity acquisition and provided the guidance needed to maximize profits. He specializes in finding and resolving inefficiencies that allow businesses to move to the next level.
Darryl's professional organizations include Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, AICPA, and The Financial Executives Networking Group.
When not in the office, Darryl enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He serves as Treasurer for his children's Scout troops, and can be seen helping the Scouts park cars at the Great Frederick Fair or selling Christmas trees at their seasonal tree lot. Darryl enjoys reading, home improvement projects, and a good pen and paper D&D quest.
